Testosterone

  • So on patches 25mg and progesterone my levels are fine been started on testosterone as feeling tired now on week 12 my levels are 1.7 normal levels should be 1.4 my menopause specialist said they are fine but now finding the last 3 weeks my anxiety is high and mood is very low and feeling quite aggressive has any one else felt like this on testosterone

  • Hi Samantha,

I have come on here because I have just started testosterone (been on estrogen patches + mirena coil for 18 months) and my testosterone levels were low and getting lower according to blood tests I have been having done. Only a week on testosterone and my mood has plummeted! I also have a dragging/bearing down feeling in my vagina which began two days after starting testosterone and is enduring. Those I know who are on testosterone were hailing it as the magic link within their HRT programmes. Perhaps it will take a while to settle but I am tempted to come off it. Back to my doctor in a few weeks but if this low mood continues then I won't endure it and will take myself off it. Fair to say, the low mood, and sudden tiredness do leave me a little irritable but I can understand why so I'm going easy on myself on that front. This is not at all what I was expecting tbh.

  • I’ve been on testosterone for a while now, and honestly, the first few months were a bit rough for me too. I remember feeling super anxious and irritable, even though my levels were technically fine.
What helped me was chatting with my doctor about tweaking the dosage a bit. Also, I learned that not all testosterone products work the same for everyone. I think that places like Steroids Canada can give you a better idea of what’s out there.
