Hi I am new to this community and I would welcome information from anyone that can help me. I started the menopause 8 years ago and it has been hell. Never mind hot flushes I have suffered with a whole range of symptoms that have really affected me both physically and mentally.
After 8 years I hoped things would settle but I am still getting cyclical symptoms each month of nausea,mouth ulcers, digestion issues and anxiety. Is this normal??? And if so will it ever stop. My family (husband in particular) think I am mad saying you can't get monthly symptoms after the menopause. But I am and so fed up. I have had every other test you can think of to try and find another reason with nothing showing up.
If anyone else is suffering please let me know so I know I am not going mad.
@Michelle Oliver hi there.
My journey - when I was about 45 I was perimenopause and thought I could cope with it all naturally taking black cohosh or red clover tablets. I suffered with symptoms - mainly dreadful night sweats and insomnia. I could go to sleep at the drop of a hat bit would then wake at 3 am and not go back to sleep. I had monthly mouth ulcers and brain fog.
After 5 years of that I finally decided to take HRT - merino coil (and then later when that was out, progesterone tablet) and estradiol tablet. Oh my life changed and I was a different person. Within 4 weeks my life was normal again. That was 8 years ago. Flash forward to beginning of this year and I said to my doctor perhaps I should think of stopping the HRT. He said yes. So I did and ALL the symptoms have come back. 3 months in and still feel dreadful. I can't bear it.
I am 58 and wondering if I should go back on HRT.

An added symptom is that it is so painful when having intercourse with my partner.
Life isn't great 😞
